Nazca Lines

One of the great mysteries of South America, the Nazca Lines are a series of animal figures and geometric shapes, none of them repeated and some up to 200m in length, drawn across some five hundred square kilometres of the bleak, stony Pampa de San Jose. Each one, even such sophisticated motifs as a spider monkey or a hummingbird, is executed in a single continuous line, most created by clearing away the brush and hard

stones of the plain to reveal the fine dust beneath. They were probably a kind of agricultural calendar to help regulate the planting and harvesting of crops, while perhaps at the same time some of the straight lines served as ancient sacred paths connecting huacas, or power spots. One theory proposes that the Lines were used as running tracks in some sort of sporting competition; whichever theory you favour, they are among the strangest and most unforgettable sights in the country.

The Nazca Lines Mystery

Viana says "In the Nazca region, scattered over 500 square kilometres of an arid plateau between the Nazca River and Ingenio River, exist huge representations of geometric patterns, animals, humans figures and thousands of perfectly straight lines that go on for kilometres.
The images on the ground are so huge, that the only way to fully observe them is only from the sky. Its real purpose is unknown, nobody actually knows who made them or why?. To see fine photos of the Nazca Lines, as well as good maps of the Nazca Lines archaeological zone visit mysteryperu.com.
Flying over the Nazca desert you can marvel looking at the perfect shape of a monkey, a spider, a while, a lizard and various types of birds, including humming birds, sea birds, and the mighty Andean Condor. These strange figures are more than 2000 years old, and they are known as The Nazca Lines."

NOVEL

MYSTERIO says "I've never been to the nazca lines, however, Anthony Horowitz presents an interesting theory in his second book in his series the gate keepers, it's called Evil Star, by Anthony horrowitz, it's very far fetched like journey to the center of the earth, but very, very, intersting."
