Eating, Drinking and Entertainment
Limon has pretty good food , and variety too, but Springfield is the town's one authentic Creole restaurant, serving rice and beans cooked in coconut milk, jerk chicken and spicy meat stews. Inside the Mercado Central there's a host of decent sodas serving tasty casados . Outside Carnaval most people hang out with a beer in the evenings, but gringos in general and women especially should avoid most bars - especially those that have a large advertising placard blocking views of the interior. If you want to drink, stick to places like Mares or Brisas del Caribe . Playa Bonita is a great place for lunch or an afternoon beer if you're tired of town.
