ITACURUCA , around 90km from Rio, is a tranquil hamlet that attracts wealthy yachting types. The attraction here is obvious: the village nestles between rolling hills and a malachite-coloured sea, its offshore islands - Jaguanum and Itacarucu, with their pleasant walks and

beaches - easily reached by boat.
