One of the two main public parks in Goiania, Parque Mutirama , in the northeast of the city at the junction of avenidas Araguaia and Contorno (Mon-Fri 1-6pm, Sat & Sun 9am-6pm), is very popular with local kids, who enjoy the delights of its ingenious amusement centre, skating rink, and its planetarium (Sun 3.30pm & 4.30pm). Opposite the park, the woods of the Parque Botafogo (closed Mon), with their reforested native trees, help the centre of the city to breathe; on the last Sunday of every month, there's good live music here.
