A very pleasant place just to hang out, San Martin de los Andes is the most convenient base for exploring the southern sector of Parque Nacional Lanin, especially the zone around Lagos Lacar and Lolog . The park's central sector is also easily accessible. San Martin is the northern terminus of the famous Ruta de Los Siete Lagos , which heads into the north of the contiguous Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi before reaching Villa La Angostura, from where you can link through to Bariloche.
