Coming up from New South Wales , the coastal highway enters Queensland at Coolangatta, where you'll also find the Gold Coast Airport . Airport Transit shuttle buses (book in advance on 1300/655 655) run to all points between the airport and Surfers Paradise for $11 one-way, $16.50 return. The Gold Coast Highway from Tweed Heads-Coolangatta to Surfers Paradise, and all the theme parks, are covered by a 24-hour bus service run by Surfside Shuttle and Surfside Buses. The whole journey costs around $7, but you can buy day passes allowing unlimited use from $13. Otherwise you'll need to take a taxi or rent a vehicle; there are more details in accounts of the individual resorts.
