The Public Areas
The public areas of the Fox Studios site opened in late 1999, focused around a mega state-of-the-art twelve-screen cinema complex , complete with digital surround sound and VIP lounges, and a smaller four-screen "arthouse" cinema. The old Show Ring , once the preserve of wood-chopping competitions and rodeo events, is used for a range of entertainment, from open-air cinema to circuses, a weekend market (Sat & Sun 10am-6pm), and a mid-week Farmers Market (Wed noon-7pm). The Show Ring is surrounded by late-opening shops (daily 10am-10pm), cafes, bars and restaurants on Bent Street , and there's also a stand-up comedy venue, the Comedy Store .
