West of Albany, West Cape Howe National Park is a coastal wilderness best suited to exploration by 4WD, while William Bay National Park , west of Denmark, has many inviting coves accessible to regular vehicles. Just before Walpole, the Valley of the Giants is the home of the now-famous Tree Top Walk and marks the edge of the giant tree country. Westrail buses run on Monday and Friday between Albany and Perth (via Bunbury; 6hr), but you won't see much along this way - renting a car or arranging a lift is a better bet.
