Dividing the main body of Lake Huron from Georgian Bay, the Bruce Peninsula holds two of Ontario's national parks. The more distinctive is the Fathom Five National Marine Park , at the northern tip of the peninsula, where extraordinary rock formations, plentiful shipwrecks and crystal-clear waters provide wonderful sport for divers. The second is the Bruce Peninsula National Park , comprising two slabs of forested wilderness on either side of Hwy 6, its northern portion offering magnificent coastal hiking on a small section of the Bruce Trail. There's camping at both parks and a reasonable choice of hotel and motel accommodation at lively Tobermory , an amiable combination of fishing village, port and resort. Spare time also for a quick zip round the interesting old port of Owen Sound at the base of the peninsula. The only catch is the lack of public transport - the peninsula has no bus services. Note also that Tobermory is where you catch the ferry to Manitoulin Island in Northern Ontario .
