The Saint John River Valley between Fredericton and Edmundston , a distance of 275km, is not consistently beautiful but does have its moments, when it slips through maple and pine forests or, to the north, where its low-lying hills and farmland are fin-ally replaced by more mountainous, heavily forested terrain. The valley towns, dotted along the Trans-Canada, are not especially memorable, but the restored pioneer village of King's Landing is first-rate and well worth at least a couple of hours, as is the waterfall at Grand Falls . SMT operates a twice-daily bus between Fredericton and Edmundston, with services continuing on to Quebec City and Montreal.
