The slow-moving Qu'Appelle River flows 350km from Lake Diefenbaker - 160km west of Regina - to the border with Manitoba, its lush, deep and wide valley a welcome break from the prairies. Punctuated by a series of narrow lakes, and home to half a dozen modest provincial parks, this is one of the province's more popular holiday areas.
