Money and Banks
The currency of Switzerland and Liechtenstein is the Swiss franc (Schweizer Franken, francs suisses, franchi svizzeri; Sfr). Each franc is divided into 100 Rappen (Rp), centimes or centisimi (c). There are coins of 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, Sfr1, Sfr2 and Sfr5, and notes of Sfr10, Sfr20, Sfr50, Sfr100, Sfr200 and Sfr1000. Train stations are the best places for changing money ; almost all have a commission-free change counter that is open long hours. You can also change money at banks, which are usually open Mon-Fri 8.30am-4.30pm (small-town branches often close noon-2pm). Some city and tourist resort banks open Sat 9am-4pm, although times vary. Post offices give a similar exchange rate to banks, and ATMs are everywhere.
