As the name suggests, golf is the main business in the GOLF DEL SUR , site of two courses and proposed locations for a further three. In fact there's little else here, save for a modest, unfinished commercial centre, CC San Blas ; containing a few bars, restaurants and car-rental outlets, it serves as a focal point for the sprawling streets of low-rise apartments and several acres of ongoing construction. Most of the holiday accommodation here caters for high-spending golfers, who can choose from the Hotel Occidental Tenerife Golf (tel 922/738 566, fax 922/738 889; ?84-120) and the Hotel Aguamarina Golf (tel 922/714 378, fax 922/715 875; ?84-120). Both are by the sea and offer four-star facilities including pools, exercise rooms and restaurants, but are currently surrounded by building sites. Accommodation in the rest of town consists of inexpensive, low-rise self-catering apartments catering to the package-holiday industry. Independent travellers should contact the Los Cristianos based Apolo Services (tel 922/790 251; fax 922/797 026; apoloprop@arrakis.es ), who can organize studios or apartments here from ?211 a week.
