The town centre borders the pleasant busy Playa de Los Cristianos whose orderly rows of sun loungers look onto the bay containing the town's harbour . Once many fishing boats bobbed in these waters, but today they're overshadowed by pleasure boats and the many ferries carrying a million annual passengers to the neighbouring islands of La Palma, El Hierro and La Gomera . The large array of vessels and companies offering boat trips from here are represented in a row of harbour-side booths, in front of which their touts cruise for custom. Similar to the trips run out of Las Americas, most trips incorporate whale and dolphin watching .
