Phones
Most hotels add surcharges to calls made from rooms, so the cheapest way to call home is to use one of the many pay-phones out on the streets. Various companies offer phone cards that can be used from any payphone, and while some work out cheaper than feeding in coins, it's worth checking to see if the card provider charges a connection fee - with some cards you will end up paying ?3 just to speak to an answerphone.
