Costs
High season runs for much of the year, with Christmas and New Year proving to be especially expensive times for booking accommodation, so there's little to be saved by travelling outside the summer months. The cheapest way to visit the islands is by travelling independently and camping. This way you can probably get by on ?12 per day. For a little more comfort - staying in a reasonable pension, eating out once a day and travelling by public transport - you're looking at ?30-?36, and around ?60-?70 to upgrade to a three-star hotel, add a modest lunch and a rental car. Prices in La Gomera tend to be a little more modest across the board than those in Tenerife. Travelling alone to either island will drive costs up by around a third
