Useful Web Sites
The official glossy Web sites of Tenerife ( www.webtenerife.com/index_en.htm ), La Gomera ( www.la-gomera.net ), and the national parks of the two islands ( www.vanaga.es/parques/ ) may help to orient travellers, but give little help with travel practicalities. Luckily a handful of commercial sites help fill this gap - the best are listed below. www.ecanarias.com One of the slickest and most useful sites, particularly for the mass of listings information in its yellow pages section and its facility for booking cars and accommodation - mostly studio, apartments and houses - online (via email). www.abcanarias.com/touristguide.html Contains a good search engine facility for finding accommodation on both Tenerife and La Gomera. www.canary-isles.com Though a little under-developed in many areas and having a broader focus than just visitor needs, this isn't a bad resource for visitors to Tenerife and includes a useful weekly magazine, with a what's on guide. www.tenerife-holidays.com Similar to the last, this is more focused on the interests and requirements of holidaymakers. www.bjerkholt.com/tenerife/welcome/ A small, insider's guide to Tenerife that includes listings sections contributed to by viewers. www.tizz.com/spain/ For more specific interests and needs than the last check the general Spain Web site where there's an excellent, annotated, Canarian links section.
