Ferries
From the Spanish mainland, the quickest option is clearly to fly, since there is only one weekly ferry and the sea-crossing takes two days. But if you're in southern Spain anyway, or can get a cheap flight there and are not pushed for time, it's an option worth considering. Trasmediterranea's (tel 902/454 645, www.trasmediterranea.es ) weekly ferry crosses from Cadiz to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Single fares start from around ?181 for foot passengers for the most basic cabin options and include all meals; cars travel from ?160 and motorcycles from ?60. Bookings for cars generally need to be made at least a month in advance and can be done through Trasmediterranea representatives outside Spain.
