The buildings along Passeig de Gracia are perhaps the best known in the Eixample, but the blocks contained within the triangle to the east, formed by the Passeig and Avinguda Diagonal , sport their own important, often extraordinary structures. Several are by the two hardest-working architects in the Eixample, Domenech i Montaner and Puig i Cadafalch, while Gaudi's first apartment building, the Casa Calvet, is also here. Apart from the Casa Calvet, all the buildings are within a few blocks of each other between the Passeig de Gracia and Diagonal metro stops; and you could also pass most of them on a long walk to the Sagrada Familia, further to the east.
