Heading north from Segovia , you're faced with quite a variety of routes. The train line heads northwest towards Valladolid and Leon, past the castles of Coca and Medina del Campo - two of the very finest in Spain. If you have transport of your own, or time for convoluted local bus routes, you can take in further impressive castles in Segovia province at Pedraza, Turegano and Cuellar , and still more by striking north again to Penafiel and the chain of castles along the River Duero. If you are looking for a night's stop in a small town, Pedraza and Turegano, around 40km from Segovia, would fit the bill nicely.
