Ronda makes an excellent base for exploring the superb countryside in the immediate vicinity or for visiting more of the White Towns. Fifteen kilometres away, Setenil , dug into the cliffs and with cave dwellings, is one of the most unusual - nearby Olvera and Teba are worth a visit, too. Other possible excursions are to the remarkable Cueva de la Pileta , with prehistoric cave paintings, and the Roman ruins of Ronda la Vieja .
