Practicalities
There's a PTTK information office (Mon-Fri 9am-3pm; tel 012/389 2036) next to the car park which can help you find a place to stay, and a souvenir shop in the same building which sells maps. The Ojcowianin travel agency, in the same building as the PTTK museum (tel 012/389 2089), also has information on rooms. Alternatively, it's usually fairly easy to rent a room in someone's house in the village by asking around, though things get pretty full up in the summer season. The only hotel option in easy striking distance is the basic Zosia (tel 012/389 2008; 60-90zl/GBP11-16/US$15-22.50) in Zlota Gora, a kilometre northwest of the castle up the hill road through the forest. There's a campsite a couple of hundred metres beyond the Zosia , as well as a restaurant , the Zajazd , which does good trout. Back down in Ojcow, the Pod Kazimierza cafe-restaurant mops up many of the day-trippers.
