Practicalities
The bus station is five minutes' walk south of the Rynek on ul. Partyzantow, with frequent servies to Kielce and less frequently to Jedrzejow. The only places to stay in town are the Hotel MOSIR , ul. Paleki 26 (tel 041/357 2044; under 60zl/GBP11/US$15), offering simple showerless rooms - mostly doubles and triples - ten minutes' walk south of the Rynek, the lakeside camping site nearby (same tel); and a seasonal youth hostel at ul. Szkolna 2 (tel 041/357 2844). The options for food are similarly limited - a couple of basic restaurants on the Rynek, including the smoky Usmiech , will serve you up a regular kotlet schabowy , an alternative being the Manhattan at ul. Krotka 3, off the west side of the Rynek.
