It's worth making a detour to the village of ZUBRZYCA GORNA , about 4km south of the Zawoja-Polanicze car park, and also accessible along the green trail. At the northernmost fringe of the village is the ethnographical park (Tues-Sun: April 15-Sept 15 9am-3pm; Sept 16-April 14 9am-2.30pm; 2zl), an impressive, well-maintained open-air museum of the region's traditional local architecture.
