Even if you don't speak the language, some of Krakow's theatrical events are well worth catching. In addition to consulting the city's listings magazines, look in at the Cultural Information Centre which, as well as making bookings, produces Karnet , a monthly calendar with comprehensive listings of events. It's as well to bear in mind that during the summer months everything sells out fast. For rock or vaguely alternative events, check the listings magazines, or look out for fly posters around town and in the record shops. The best place to track down information on the gay scene in Krakow is the site. A couple of places in town worth checking out are Hades , a bar/nightclub on ul. Starowislna, near the river, the Biedna restaurant on ul. Bracka and the Jama Michalika cafe.
