Waterford's coastline offers good sandy beaches and some breathtaking coastal walks. The open grandeur of bays like Dungarvan is offset by the intimacy of hidden coves and scenic fishing ports. The best of the beaches are at Woodstown, Dunmore East, Tramore, Annestown and Ardmore - where you'll also find the vestiges of early Christian history. Major seaside towns are connected to Waterford by regular bus services; Suirway buses provide a limited service to some of the choicest spots, but you may well find that the best are walked, cycled or slowly hitched to. The coastal area also offers some of the best traditional music in the southeast of Ireland, most notably at Ring , home to a small Irish-speaking community.
