Phone Numbers
After reorganization in 1999, all phone numbers in Northern Ireland now comprise the UK area code 028 plus an eight-digit local number. If you're calling within Northern Ireland, simply use the eight-digit number. Calls into Northern Ireland from another part of the UK need the 028 area code as a prefix; but if you're calling from the Republic , you need to use a different 048 code as a prefix to the eight-digit local number. Calls into Northern Ireland from anywhere else in the world need an international access code, then 4428, then the eight-digit local number.
