South of Schull, and beyond the settlement of Toormore, is GOLEEN . Here, you'll find the delightful upmarket restaurant and B&B , Heron's Cove (tel 028/35225; GBP40-55/?50.79-69.84), where if you don't want a full meal you can still enjoy chowder, cakes and creek life. Beyond lies CROOKHAVEN , the nearest resort to Barley Cove with a large caravan and camping park on the Goleen-Crookhaven road; unless you want the facilities, though, there is no real need to use this - there are plenty of remote spots where you can pitch a tent for free.
