Arrival and Information
The tourist office is next to the bus depot and cinema in the centre of town (July & Aug Mon-Sat 9am-7pm, Sun 10am-6pm; Sept-June Mon-Sat 9.15am-1pm & 2.15-5.30pm; tel 021/477 2234); when it's closed, tourist information is readily available at Peter Barry's, opposite The Spaniards pub in Scilly, on the eastern coast road out of town. There are numerous ways to get out onto the water at Kinsale and the tourist office can give you plenty of information about these: Castlepark Marina Centre , just under two miles out of town, offers deep-sea angling, scuba diving and harbour trips . There's a lovely sandy beach two minutes' walk away from the centre where you can rent wind-surfing equipment, dinghies and canoes at very reasonable prices (contact the Outdoor Education Centre in advance tel 021/477 2896, www.oec.ie/kinsale ). Bike rental is available at The Hire Shop, 18 Main St (tel 021/477 4884; GBP8/?10.16).
