Even more distant than the Statue Park, the Nagyteteny Castle Museum ( Nagytetenyi Kastelymuzeum ; March-April & Nov-Dec Tues-Sun 10am-4pm; May & Sept-Oct Tues-Sun 10am-6pm; June-Aug Tues-Fri 10am-6pm, Sat & Sun 10am-8pm; 300Ft; cameras 400Ft, videocameras 1000Ft) is strictly for furniture buffs - so think twice before undertaking the lengthy (30-45min) journey by bus #3 from Moricz Zsigmond korter. Get off at the Petofi utca stop in the XXII district, cross the road and follow Pohar utca into a park, to find the kastely . Though rendered as "castle" in English, " kastely " generally signifies a manor house or chateau without fortifications, which Hungarian nobles began building after the Turks had been expelled - in this case, by converting an older, ruined castle into a Baroque residence. Nowadays, its 29 rooms display furniture from the Gothic to the Biedermeier epochs, owned by the Museum of Applied Arts; the most outstanding is a walnut-veneered refectory from Trencsen Monastery. In July and August, historical dances and concerts are held in the grounds (call 1/207 5462 for information).
