There's accommodation in YEFIRA , along with various other useful tourist services including a bank, post office and a travel agent , Malvasia Travel (tel 07320/61 432; malvtrvl@otenet.gr ), which can help with rooms, ferry (if any) tickets and scooter rental; Agelakos (tel 07320/61 219) at the Mobil garage just across the bridge towards the rock handles the hydrofoils . There are several hotels near or just north of the causeway. The cheapest is the refurbished Akroyiali (tel 07320/61 360; ?24-33). The Aktaion (tel 07320/61 234; ?34-42) and posher Filoxenia (tel 07320/61 716; ?43-58) are under the same management. The friendly Monemvasia (tel 07320/61 381; ?24-33) is good value, with large balconies overlooking the sea, while inland just over the road the Flower of Monemvasia (tel 07320/61 395, fax 61 391; ?43-58) has rooms with a fridge and TV. If these are full, there are others to choose from, plus rooms for rent such as the friendly Petrino (tel 07320/61 136; ?34-42), advertised along the waterfront. The nearest campsite is 3km to the south, along the coast road; Kapsis Paradise (tel 07320/61 123) is open year-round, and has water-skis and scooters for rent. Back in the village, the best taverna is undoubtedly the
Nikolaos ; if you have transport, you could also try the Pipinelis (tel 07320/61 044; May-Oct), about 2km out on the road south to the campsite, but ring first to be sure it's open and to make a reservation if the weather's cool, as indoor seating is limited. Even closer to the campsite is the pleasant Kamares taverna with good grilled and oven food. For nightlife in Yefira, try the popular Rock Cafe or the Sante bar which plays cutting-edge Greek music.
