Corfu's three inhabited satellite islands, Erikoussa, Othoni and Mathraki , in the quintet of Dhiapondia islands , are scattered up to 20km off the northwest coast. Some travel agencies in the northern resorts offer day-trips to Erikoussa only, often with a barbecue thrown in - fine if you're happy to spend the day on the beach. A trip taking in all three islands from Sidhari or Ayios Stefanos is excellent value: they are between thirty and sixty minutes apart by boat, and most trips allow you an hour on each (longer on sandy Erikoussa). Locals use day-trip boats between the islands, so it's possible to pay your way between them. There is also a thrice-weekly ferry from Kerkyra Town, the Alexandros II , which brings cars and goods to the islands, but given that it has to sail halfway round Corfu first, it's the slowest way to proceed.
