The portion of Hios extending west and southwest from Hios Town matches the south in terms of interesting monuments, and good roads (being improved still further with EU funding) make touring under your own power an easy matter. There are also several beaches on the far shore of the island which, though not necessarily the best on Hios, are fine for a dip at the middle or end of the day
