Although connected by dirt road with Spoa, much the easiest (and usual) way to get to northern Karpathos is by sea. Inter-island ferries call at Dhiafani two or three times a week in season, or there are the above-cited smaller tour kaikia from Pigadhia daily. The journey time on the smaller boats is about ninety minutes, with boats met at Dhiafani by buses for the eight-kilometre transfer up to the traditional village of Olymbos, the main attraction in this part of the island
