Most of Poros's hotels are to be found on Kalavria, the main body of the island, just across the canal beyond the Naval Cadets' Training School. They stretch for a couple of kilometres on either side of the bridge, with some of those to the west in Neorio ideally situated to catch the dawn chorus - the Navy's marching band. If you'd rather sleep in, head beyond the first bay where the fishing boats tie up. Two kilometres from the bridge, in Megalo Neorio , is the pleasant Pavlou hotel (tel 02980/22 734, fax 22 735; ?59 and upwards), a larger beach and a watersports centre. Alternatively, turn right through Askeli , where posh hotels and villas face good clear water. Two bus routes run half-hourly from Poros Town waterfront to Askeli and Zoodhohou Piyis, and to Neorio.
