The shoreline of the Cote d'Albatre is eroding at a ferocious rate, and it's conceivable that the small resorts here, tucked in among the cliffs at the ends of a succession of valleys, may not last more than another century or so. For the moment, however, they are quietly prospering, with casinos, sports centres and yacht marinas ensuring a modest but steady summer trade. To the east of Dieppe Le Treport is pleasant enough, but the obvious direction to head is west, where you can take your pick of St-Valery, Fecamp and the best of the bunch, Etretat .
