Arrival and Information
The Centre d'Arc , a large modern shopping centre on place d'Arc, is the first thing you'll see as you step out of the gare SNCF . The tourist office is in the Centre d'Arc on the south side overlooking place Albert-1er (April-Sept Mon 10am-7pm, Tues-Sat 9am-7pm, Sun 10am-noon; Oct-March Tues-Sat 9am-6.30pm; tel 02.38.24.05.05, fax 02.38.54.49.84), and hands out Orleans Poche , a free listings magazine telling what's going on around the town. Online, www.orleanscity.com has plenty of information on special events and cultural happenings in the city, while www.tourismloiret.com covers the rest of the region. The gare routiere , on rue Marcel-Proust, is a short way northeast of the tourist office off rue Prince-Albert-1er.
