Eating and Drinking
The most reasonably priced of Chinon's decent restaurants is Les Annees 30, 78 rue Voltaire (tel 02.47.93.37.18; menus from 115F/?17.53), although the best one is the three-star Au Plaisir Gourmand , quai Charles VII (tel 02.47.93.20.48; closed Sun evening & Mon), where you can try filet de sandre or wonderful langoustines on menus from 175F/?26.68. These apart, you'll have to make do with indifferent pizzas and crepes, or pay over the odds for "gargantuan" menus in the restaurants of the medieval quarter.
