Arrival and Information
Buses from Ajaccio and Bastia stop in the centre of town on avenue Xavier-Luciani; the gare SNCF is at the foot of the hill near the university (tel 04.95.46.00.97), a ten-minute walk from the centre and campsites. If you're driving, the best place to park is at the top of avenue Jean-Nicoli, the road which leads into town from Ajaccio. Corte's tourist office is situated just inside the main gates of the citadel, near the museum (May-Oct daily 9am-1pm & 2-7pm; Nov-April Mon-Fri 9am-noon & 2-6pm; tel 04.95.46.26.70), while the information office of the Parc Regional (daily June-Sept 9am-1pm & 4.30-7pm; tel 04.95.46.27.44) stands at the Fontaine des Quatre Canons, a small square centred on a fountain between cours Paoli and rue Colonel Feracci. Cars can be rented from Europcar, 9 cours Paoli (tel 04.95.31.03.79), or Hertz, c/o Cyrnea Tourisme, 9 av Xavier-Luciani (tel 04.95.46.24.62).
