Arrival and Information
Arriving by plane, you'll land at Figari airport, 17km north of Bonifacio. There's no bus service from here so you'll have to take a taxi into town - around 250F/?38. If you're coming by bus you'll be dropped at the car park by the marina , close to most of the hotels. The tourist office is up in the haute ville , in the Fort San Nicro at the bottom of rue F. Scamaroni (July-Sept daily 9am-8pm; Oct-June Mon-Fri 9am-12.30pm & 2-5.15pm); they will check for you which hotels have vacancies. Cars can be rented from Avis (tel 04.95.73.01.28) or Hertz (tel 04.95.73.06.41), both on quai Banda del Ferro, or Citer, quai Noel-Beretti (tel 04.95.73.13.16). If you need to change money, note that Bonifacio's only ATM, at the Societe Generale on the quai J. Comparetti, frequently runs out of money, so get there early in the day or you'll be at the mercy of the rip-off bureaux de change dotted around the town.
