More tourists flock to Finistere's southern coast than to any other part of the region, with the busiest segment of all in summer centring on the family-friendly resort of Benodet . The beaches between here and Foret-Fouesnant to the east rank among the finest in Brittany. Slightly further east, the walled, sea-circled town of Concarneau makes a perfect day-trip destination, though a prettier place to spend a night or two would be the flowery village of Pont-Aven , as immortalized by Paul Gauguin, further to the east again.
