spreading southeast of Briancon to the Italian border, is much more Mediterranean in appearance than the mountains to the north, with low scrub covering the mountainsides, poor shallow soil, white friable rock and a huge variety of flora. The park has some good walking opportunities, with the GR58 path making a circuit of the park, running through St-Veran and L'Echalp, and the GR5 crossing through Ceillac and Arvieux on its way from Briancon towards Embrun .
