Emergencies
You probably won't have much cause to come into contact with the Finnish police , though if you do they are likely to speak English. As for health problems , if you're insured, you'll save time by seeing a doctor at a private health centre ( Laakariasema ) rather than queuing at a national health centre ( Terveyskeskus ). Medicines must be paid for at a pharmacy ( apteekki ), generally open daily 9am-6pm. For all emergencies dial 112.
Traveler, USAFrank says "If you are visiting Helsinki but want to get out of the city to find out what country is really like, check out rudolfcity.com. I tried them on a day tour to Turku and visited out of the way places that I would never have found myself. It was the best experience of my Finland trip!"
