Eating, Drinking and Nightlife
Meat and potatoes figure heavily on most restaurant menus in Tallinn, with alternatives available in a handful of ethnic places. Vegetarians are not well catered for, though a few places make a token effort. Many cafes and bars do snacks or even full meals, an option which will usually work out cheaper than eating in a restaurant. Bars and cafes are your best bet for a good time, with many featuring live music and/or dancing. Most of Tallinn's discos cater for a mainstream techno-loving crowd. More underground, cutting-edge dance music events tend to change location frequently and are advertised by flyposters - if you can't spot any try asking around in the city's hipper bars. Expect to pay 50-70EEK admission for discos and clubs
