Practicalities
There are frequent buses (#663, #664, #665 and #699) to Haworth from Bradford Interchange, eight miles away, with services every hour during the day; they stop at the bottom of the cobbled Main Street. Haworth tourist office is at 2-4 West Lane, at the top of Main Street (daily 9.30am-5.30pm; tel 01535/642329). You'll need to book ahead for accommodation at most times of the year. You can join Branwell's ghost in the Black Bull Hotel in Main Street (tel 01535/642249; GBP40-50), but the Old White Lion Hotel , a little further up (tel 01535/642313; GBP50-60), is a more comfortable old inn. The best guest house is the Apothecary , 86 Main St (tel 01535/643642, apot@sisley86.fre eserve.co.uk ; GBP40-50), opposite the church. For something a bit more luxurious, try Weaver's , 15 West Lane (tel 01535/643822; GBP70-90), a converted row of weavers' cottages which also contains one of the best restaurants in the county (dinner only, closed Sun & Mon). The youth hostel , Longlands Hall (tel 01535/642234, ), is a mile from the centre at Longlands Drive, Lees Lane, off the Keighley road; the Bradford buses stop on the main road nearby.
