The City
Liverpool has a legacy of magnificent municipal and industrial buildings - best seen en masse from across the river or on the Mersey ferry - and these are the chief attractions of the cityscape, along with its two famous cathedrals . The city's mercantile past and aspects of its recent history are well covered in a number of fine museums and galleries, especially in the rejuvenated warehouses of Albert Dock , which form the largest grouping of Grade I listed buildings in the country. The tourist offices can book you onto a variety of guided walks and tours (from GBP3), or make your own way using the themed trail leaflets on sale in the offices.
