Daily 10am-6pm; GBP7.50; www.rafmuseum.org.uk. Tube: Colindale. A world-class assembly of historic military aircraft can be seen at the RAF Museum , located in a godforsaken part of north London beside the M1 motorway. Enthusiasts won't be disappointed, but those looking for a balanced account of modern aerial warfare will - the overall tone is unashamedly militaristic, not to say jingoistic. Those with children should head for the hands-on Fun 'n' Flight gallery; those without might prefer to explore the often overlooked display galleries, ranged around the edge of the Main Aircraft Hall, which contain an art gallery and an exhibition on the history of flight, accompanied by replicas of some of the death-traps of early aviation.
