Neighbouring Poole and Christchurch are more interesting historically than Bournemouth. North of this coastal sprawl, the pleasant old market town of Wimborne has one of the area's most striking churches, while the stately home of Kingston Lacy contains an outstanding collection of old masters and other paintings.
