Mon & Fri-Sun 10.30am-9pm, Tues-Thurs 9.45am-9pm; 75kr including IMAX film; www.astro.ku.dk/tycho.html . Bus #1, #14 or Vesterport S-Tog. Situated at the southeastern corner of Skt Jørgens Sø (the southernmost of the lakes that enclose central Copenhagen), the Tycho Brahe Planetarium - named after the famous sixteenth-century Danish astronomer - is a distinctive cylindrical, sand-coloured brick affair which currently contains a disappointing astronomical collection and an equally uninspiring bookshop, although plans are afoot to create a brand-new hi-tech exhibition throughout. There's also a large IMAX cinema - the only one in the country. Entry is included with planetarium ticket, though the films screened here are more likely to cover topics like surfing or diving than anything astronomical - the only exceptions are Cosmic Voyage (shown daily), a cheesy look at the marvels of space travel, and the derisory five-minute show using the planetarium projector which is tacked onto the end of every film screening.
