Bus #6, #185 or Klampenborg Station. The final destination on the northbound S-Tog C-line is the wealthy suburb of Klampenborg . Turning right out of the station brings you to the attractive and very popular Bellevue Beach , the preferred spot for Copenhagen's poseurs, where beautiful young things lounge around on the sand pretending to read French existential novels. Turn left out of the station and walk for ten minutes through some woods to reach the Bakken amusement park (April-Aug daily noon-midnight; free; www.bakken.dk ). Compared to the supposedly genteel Tivoli, Bakken is a strictly blue-collar affair, with dozens of brash beer halls, cheap restaurants and fairground rides whose colourful trashiness provides a welcome contrast to the staid atmosphere of many of Copenhagen's other attractions. It also boasts of being the oldest surviving amusement park in the world - a claim the park's antiquated wooden rollercoaster would seem to bear out. The third weekend of March, when the park opens for the new season, is a big annual event, with Copenhageners congregating en masse to sample the latest attractions, and a mass rally of city bikers turning up to mark the occasion. You can take a horse-drawn carriage from Klampenborg station to Bakken for 60kr. Almost entirely surrounding Bakken is the enormous Dyrehave (Deer Park), a former royal hunting ground which is still home to large numbers of deer and whose cool oak and beech woods are a wonderful spot for walking, picnicking and relaxing. In the middle of the park, and at its highest point, is a Rococo hunting lodge, Eremitagen (closed to the public), built in 1736 by Christian VI and still used by the royals today.
